Friend,
You are part of a small, motivated group of Mainers who we’re bringing
this update — and appeal — to, in the hope that you can help us quickly
close our funding gap and keep pushing for our referendum to stay on the
2026 November ballot.
While our referendum to “Designate School Sports Participation and
Facilities by Sex” has been successful — and has proven to be a unifying
and winning issue on every metric — we’ve hit significant legal
roadblocks that we need your help to overcome.
We remain confident in the appeal we’ve brought to the Supreme Judicial
Court of Maine yet believe further legal action at the federal level
will give us the full-court-press we need to get this done by early
August in time for ballots to be printed.
We need your help this week to close our $36,000 funding gap:
- To press our appeal at the federal courts, we need $50,000 in funding.
- We have raised $14,500 to date.
Your donation of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 or even
the full gap will have a direct impact on our fight at the federal
courts, the fight of our daughters for their sex-based rights, and our
ability to win this November.
You can make a direct donation here:
As Chair of the Cumberland County Republican Committee, I ask that you:
1) Consider a donation today, and
2) Share this with 5 other motivated Mainers.
Please act now. Attached is a more in-depth update on the referendum,
where we are, where we’re going, and how your assistance will help us
get there.
This is about protecting fairness, safety, and opportunity for Maine’s
daughters. Let’s stand together.
Sincerely,
Chuck Ellis
Chair, Cumberland County Republican Committee
