Legislative Update from May 12th, 2023

There are two important bills on for public hearing on Monday, May 15, at 1:00 in the Judiciary Committee: LD 678, An Act to Require Parental Approval for Public School Employees to Use a Name or Pronoun other than a Child’s Given Name or Pronoun Corresponding to the Gender on the Child’s Birth Certificate LD 930 – An Act to Allow only Students of Female Gender to Participate in Women’s and Girls Scholastic Sports If you would like to provide your comments or opinion to the Committee, there are three ways to testify:

  1. Show up in person. This is best. Standard comment time is 3 minutes, although the committee in its discretion may reduce that time if circumstances warrant. If you show up in person, you are asked to bring 20 copies of your testimony.

  2. Testify via zoom – simply register on line to do this and submit your testimony on line

  3. Submit your testimony on line.
