Ken Capron

About Ken
Kenneth A. Capron is a lifelong Mainer, retired CPA, Systems Engineer, and tireless advocate for accountability, innovation, and citizen empowerment. From testifying in Augusta to hosting public forums in Portland, Ken has spent his life fighting for transparency, smart government, and practical solutions to complex problems.

Ken’s career spans decades of public service — from founding MemoryWorks, a nationally recognized dementia support network, to building Maine Taxpayers United and pioneering legislative reforms. He has hosted radio and television shows, founded civic organizations, and launched businesses with real community impact.

With expertise in financial systems, public policy, and grassroots organizing, Ken brings both experience and energy to his campaign. His work has been featured on radio, TV, and in print, and his leadership has shaped key issues from climate and healthcare to veterans’ rights and tax reform.

Ken lives in Portland, Maine, where he continues to write, speak, and lead. His current campaign for Governor is his “last horseless rodeo” — a final act of service rooted in independence, driven by facts, and focused on Maine’s future.
