Join Maine Policy on Saturday, June 29 in Falmouth for an in-depth conversation about what policies can be enacted by school boards across the state to make public schools more transparent and accessible to Maine families.

Research Fellow, Jonah Davids, and Attorney, Sam Whiting, will unpack new research on the decline of Maine’s K-12 public school system and unveil new resources for school boards. These resources include the Maine School Board Model Policies, a document containing five policies every school board in Maine should adopt to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance at the local level. It also includes the Education Toolkit, a portfolio of resources containing additional policies and legal memos to support school boards.

Jonah Davids is a Research Fellow with Maine Policy Institute and a Researcher for The America Fund. His work focuses on education, mental health, and identity politics.

Sam Whiting is an Attorney for The Whiting Law Firm admitted in Maine and Massachusetts who focuses on First Amendment and education law issues. He has degrees from Grove City College and George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.

Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Reserve your spot today for this important discussion. Space is limited and reservations are required in advance. Please RSVP by Friday, June 21.
